A good granola is worth it’s weight in, well, GRANOLA! This recipe for Cinnamon Maple Pecan Granola is a rustic version of the breakfast-y treat. Full of healthy ingredients like hemp, flax, nuts, and oats, and sweetened with pure maple syrup, it is a satisfying, guilt-free snack! It’s warm blend of spices make it reminiscent of cozy baked goods, making for endless serving options.

I have often purchased granola instead of making it from scratch. However, good granola is not cheap! And often, it contains at least 2 types of sugars, making it not as healthy as it’s name suggests 🙂

My eldest son especially loves the cinnamon maple flavour found in this recipe, and I often find him scooping handfuls out of the jar for a little treat on it’s own.

How to use Cinnamon Maple Pecan Granola

After my kids fell in love with my Homemade Cinnamon Applesauce a while back, I knew that topping it off with a nice maple pecan granola would make it that much more perfect (and more filling). In fact, this granola can be used lots of different ways!

*Add Cinnamon Maple Pecan Granola to homemade applesauce for an ‘Apple Crisp’ flavoured breakfast!

*Add granola to yogurt or oatmeal to mix up the texture and add fibre and protein.

*Use it to top muffins before baking for an added crunch.

*Top a salad with Cinnamon Maple Pecan Granola. Excellent on a kale salad with apples or dried cranberries.

*Use it as a topping for roasted sweet potato or squash to add a warm crunch to your side dish!

How to make Cinnamon Maple Pecan Granola

In a bowl, stir together your dry ingredients.

dry ingredients for granola in a white bowl including oats and pecans. It is set on a wooden table beside a wooden spoon.

In a separate bowl, mix wet ingredients and spices.

Mix wet and dry ingredients together, and spread in a thin layer on a baking sheet.

Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes, stirring after 10 minutes. Stay with your granola, as it can burn easily! You want it brown, but not burnt 🙂

Remove granola from oven and allow to cool before placing in airtight container to store. Granola will keep on the shelf for approx 2 weeks.

Variations

Feel free to play around with the flavours in this granola! Try using walnuts instead of pecans, or add additional ingredients like sesame or chia seeds.

My recipe doesn’t include dried fruit, but feel free to add raisins, dried apple pieces, or dried cranberries to the mix! Just add them after the granola is fully cooked 😉

If you try this recipe and love it, I would appreciate if you could come back, comment on the post, and give it 5 stars!
